Day 1: Arrival

Met on arrival by our representative at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi and driven to the accommodation facility of your choice (budget or luxury). After check-in you will be briefed on your safari and then left to relax and take the rest of your day at leisure.

Day 2: Nairobi Excursion

Early breakfast follow ed by a visit to the National Museum where you will see original fossils found nowhere else in the world. Next to the National Museum is the Snake Park. The park has most of the snake species found in Kenya, enclosed in glass cages or in open pits. Also to be seen in this park is crocodiles and tortoises.

After the snake park you will be transferred to Karen Blixen Museum and the Giraffe Centre situated at the foot of the Ngong Hills. The Museum was originally the home of Karen Blixen of the Out of Africa fame. Next to the museum is the Giraffe Centre. The park has a small herd of Rothschild's Giraffe which visitors will get a chance to hand-feed.

You will then break off for lunch and relax. After this you will visit the Bomas of Kenya. A Boma is a traditional homestead (optional). There are 16 Bomas representing the 16 different ethnic groups of Kenya

You will take a guided tour of the different Bomas (huts) within the compound. And then enjoy the rich traditional music accompanied by dances at this cultural centre within the Bomas. You will then return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Samburu Reserve (4hrs)

This semi arid game reserve has some of unique wildlife and birdlife species found nowhere else in the world.

After breakfast you will checkout and journey North to Samburu Reserve arriving in the afternoon. You will have interesting stopovers including the Equator for a photo opportunity, and lunch en route. Check-in will be at the accommodation facility of your choice (budget or luxury).

Day 4: Samburu Experience

Wake up early with a snack and embark on game viewing in search of the rare game species endemic to this park for example the liver-red reticulated giraffe, grevy's zebra, the long necked gerenuk, antelopes, beisa, Oryx, white tigers, cougars plus the big five, and graceful gerenuk. Game concentrates along Ewaso Nyiro River makes game viewing in this reserve very rewarding. Samburu also has unique birdlife including Marshal Eagle, pygmy falcon, blue-legged Somali Ostrich, hornbill, and Egyptian geese. After the game experience you will return to the camp for a full breakfast and relaxation.

The afternoon will be spent at leisure, with the option of visiting the Samburu villages if you are interested in learning more about the Samburu people. The Samburu people are believed to be the cousin of the Masai people, they are proud, happy and friendly people who defy modernity and still cherish their traditional and colorful ceremonies of their ancestors. Dinner and overnight at the camp/hotel

Day 5: Samburu - Mt. Kenya

After breakfast you will checkout and drive South to Mount Kenya, checking in at the luxurious Mount Kenya Safari Club set at the foot of Mount Kenya or at any accommodation facility of your choice (budget or luxury). The rest of the afternoon will be spent at leisure while enjoying the club’s facilities. Activities available at the club includes: Golf, Tennis, Horseback trekking, William Holden Animal orphanage, heated swimming pool, Trout fishing, Jogging circuits and Bird watching. And on a clear day one may be able to view the snow-peaked crown of Mount Kenya very clearly as it shows off vividly at dawn.

Day 6: Sweetwater's Excursions

After breakfast we drive to Sweetwater's, a private game sanctuary nestled on 45,000 hectares of land. The solitude of this reserve, broad horizons, a view of snow-capped Mt. Kenya and a variety of animals - herds of elephant, reticulated giraffe, buffalo, Oryx and zebra makes this an unforgettable experience. Unique to this reserve are the famous chimpanzee sanctuary, easily accessible by boat and a nearby Rhino Sanctuary on Ol Pejeta Ranch. Plus the opportunity to participate in camel or horseback riding

Lunch will be at the Sweet waters Tented Camp, a luxurious tents overlooking a floodlit waterhole frequented by elephant, giraffe and occasionally rhinos, giving you a perfect opportunity to photograph animals in their natural habitat. After this exciting excursion you will transfer back to Mount Kenya Safari Club or the accommodation facility of your choice for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Transfer Aberdare Ranges (2hrs)

The forests of the Aberdares ranges are renowned for their botanical riches and torrential waterfalls. After breakfast you will checkout and we drive tThomson Fallso Aberdare Reserve checking-in at the famous Tree-Tops Hotel / Ark Hotel or accommodation facility of your choice (budget or luxury).

After check-in you will set off on a scenic tour of this reserve, with packed lunch. Among the fascinations are the Gura Waterfall, the most precipitous fall in Kenya cascading 300m into an impenetrable ravine, the spectacularly lovely Karura Falls , the Chania Falls, the Magura Fall and Queen's Cave. Also of great interest are two peaks of Kinangop and Ol dongo Leisitima, and the twin Hills – Elephant hills and Table Mountains. Bird viewing is also very rewarding in this park with over 250 species of birds, including the endangered Aberdare Cristicola, sparry hawk, eagles, sunbirds and plovers.

After this exciting day you will return to your hotel for dinner and overnight, and if you chose Treetop hotel or the Ark hotel you may be in for nighttime game viewing right from your hotel room balcony. It is estimated that 2000 elephants roam the clouded hills; also the park has the second highest population of black rhinos.

Day 8: Transfer to Naivasha via Lake Nakuru (5hrs)

After breakfast we head south to Lake Nakuru National Park via Nyahururu Falls (formerly Thompson Falls) arriving in time for lunch at the Sarova Lion Hills Lodge Nakuru. After lunch we will visit the famous Lake Nakuru to view over a million Flamingos and multitudes of other bird species before proceeding to Naivasha. Check-in will be at the accommodation facility of your choice (budget or luxury) where you will relax and take the rest of your evening at leisure.

Day 9: Hell's Gate Excursions

On this day you have option to choose between hell’s Gate, and Crescent Islands.

If you choose Hell’s Gate excursions, you will depart after breakfast. Here you can hire bikes to take you around the park or take a walk in the gorge. There are herds of zebra, buffalo, hartebeest and gazelle. There is some spectacular scenery here, red cliffs, grassy plains and rock towers made of hardened lava, the remains of ancient volcanoes.

And if you chose Crescent Islands, you can enjoy a boat ride to this impressive sub-merged rim of an emerged crater giving you a fascinating rift valley appeal. Other intriguing features are the Crater Lake Game Sanctuary, and Joy Adamson’s House. After this scenic allure, you will return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Departure

This day marks the end of your safari, after a relaxed breakfast you will checkout and drive back to Nairobi, arriving in time for lunch. Depending on the time of your flight you will either be taken to the airport the same day for your outbound flight, or checked-in a Nairobi hotel for one night and transferred to the airport the next day.
