The Magical Murchsion Falls

Safari Highlights No visit to Uganda would be complete without a visit to the magnificent Murchison Falls, renowned for its scenic beauty and the spectacular falls from which the park derives its name, Murchison Falls has abundant flora and fauna to delight the visitor. From rolling savannah and tall grasslands to thick bush and woodlands, the diversity of this park never ceases to amaze visitors and residents alike. They can be viewed from the top where the Nile River narrows from 50 metres to crash through a 7 metre gorge, falling 45 metres to the rocks below;

Day 01: Arrival in Uganda

Met on arrival by our representative at Entebbe International Airport and transferred to Kampala for check-in dinner and overnight at the accommodation facility of your choice (budget or luxury)

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls NP (5-6hrs)

Pick up from your hotel at 7.00am after breakfast, followed by a drive to Murchison Falls NP passing through beautiful woodlands and Savannah grasslands, lunch in Masindi.

After lunch we shall drive straight to the park, and then to the accommodation facility of your choice (budget or luxury) for check-in where you will also relax and take the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 3:· Game drive and Launch cruise

Wake up early with a snack and set off on a Sunrise game drive (about 6.30am) in the Nyamsika plateau, while on the game drives, Cape buffalo, Rothschild's giraffe, Uganda kob, hartebeest and waterbuck are commonly seen. You may also spot oribi, bushbuck, Bohor reedbuck, shy sitatunga, bush duiker, warthog and bushpig plus large carnivores including lion, leopard and spotted hyena.

Chimpanzees and olive baboons head the list of six species of primates found in the park. Crocodile and hippo will be seen along the banks of the Nile. Some of the more common birds that can be seen include goliath heron, Egyptian geese, pelican, bee-eaters, kingfishers, hornbill, cormorant, saddle-bill stork and the rare shoebill stork.

After the game drive, you will return to the lodge/camp for lunch there after you will relax. After lunch, proceed for a boat trip on the placid Victoria Nile, upstream, to the base of the falls. En route you will see hippos, crocodiles, water buck and a wide variety of birds like the unusual shoebill stork.

The boat stops just tens of meters from the "Devil’s Cauldron". Take pictures of the photogenic and majestic Murchison Falls. Overnight at your preferred accommodation facility (budget or luxury)

Day 4: Murchison Falls NP - Kampala.

After breakfast you will check-out, and drive to the “top of the thunderous Murchison falls”, where you will enjoy the spectacular view before proceeding to Kampala with lunch en route. We shall arrive in the late afternoon and check-in at the accommodation facility of your choice (budget or luxury) and then leave you to take the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 5: Departure

On this day you will say goodbye to the Pearl of Africa, and our driver will pick you up after breakfast and time allowing (if you are interested) he will drive you to the crafts village to buy souvenir before proceeding to the airport in time to catch your flight back home.
