Safaris Highlights
This safari will take you on an unforgettable experience of tracking the closest relatives to mankind – the Mountain Gorillas in the forested Virunga Volcanoes, housing 8 families of the endangered species. After this strenuous exercise, you will set off on a one-day excursion to cool-down at the resort town of Kivu before returning to Kigali and finally paying a visit to one of the genocide memorial sites giving you an insight into the Rwandan communities.

Day 1: Arrival
Met on arrival by our representative at Kigali International Airport and transferred to Ruhengeri Gorilla sanctuary (2hrs drive), through beautiful farmlands and hilly landscape. Check-in will be at the accommodation facility of your choice (budget or luxury).
Day 2: Gorilla trekking
After an early breakfast, you will report to the park headquarters for briefing and thereafter you are led through the forest by experienced trackers on this exhilarating Gorilla trekking expedition. During your trek you will spot other primates such as golden monkeys and a wide variety of bird life.
Gorilla trekking is a strenuous activity and can take anywhere from one to eight hours, depending on Gorilla movements, however all this is rewarded when you come face-to-face with this elusive giants. And on your lucky day, you may chance to see the adults feeding, grooming as the young swing from vines in delightful playful manner. After this awesome experience, you will return to your hotel to relax and take the rest of the day at leisure. In the afternoon you have the option of visiting the grave of Dr. Dian Fossey, one of the world’s leading female scientists who devoted her life to protecting and studying the mountain gorillas in Africa.
Day 3: Lake Kivu Excursion
After breakfast you will checkout and depart for Lake Kivu for a full-day excursion; checking in at the accommodation facility of your choice (budget or luxury). Lake Kivu with its beaches is ideal for swimming, boat rides and sun bathing. On arrival, you will tour and discover Lake Kivu at leisure; exploring the three colourful lakeside resort towns: Gisenyi, Kibuye and Cyangugu, pursuing the various activities they have to offer, including speedboats, canoe sailing and mountain walks, lunch en route. After this excursion you will return to your hotel· for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Transfer to Kigali (3hrs)
After a relaxed breakfast you will checkout and we drive back to Kigali arriving in time for lunch, Checking in at the accommodation facility of your choice (budget or luxury), where you will relax and take the rest of the day at leisure.
In the afternoon you have the option of doing a brief city tour starting with Kigali Memorial Centre, built on a site where over 250,000 people are buried following the Rwandan Genocide, in April 2004. There after we shall proceed to the handcraft shops (optionally) to give you opportunity to buy souvenirs as you wind up your tour. After which we will return you to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Departure
This day marks the end of your safaris, after breakfast we will transfer you to Kanombe International Airport in time for your outbound flight. We hope you have enjoyed your stay in Rwanda.
