The Safari Hihlights

The safari starts with the magnificient Murchison Falls, which is the highlights to any visit to Uganda, from there you will visit our cousins - the Chimpanzees in Kibale National park and experience unique moments. You will proceed to Bwindi for Gorilla encounter, one of the most memorable experience in the African jungles. This wildlife safari does not miss out on Queen Elizabeth National Park and Lake Bunyonyi known for their diversity of birdlife and picturesque geographical features. You will also be treated to some of the most relaxing moments on cool boating trips, and cultural exposures. Nature lovers will find Uganda truely incredible!.

Day 1: 

Early departure from Kampala to Murchison Falls which is about 5 to 6 hours with lunch en route. We will arrive in the national park in the late afternoon and our first visit will be the magnificent waterfalls from which the park derives its name. This is where the river Nile is being forced into a seven meter crevice and forms a rainbow. It’s such a spectacular view, allowing you a chance to bird around and take memorable photos. Continue to your lodge for overnight. (Budget or luxury).

 Day 2:  The Magnificient Murchison

Clients can choose to take an early coffee or tea then head on for the game drive on the northern bank of the Nile, with chances of seeing lots of wildlife in search for food; among these you may find giraffes, elephants, lions, hartebeest and different species of birds. You will return for breakfast, then relax till lunch and in the afternoon the safari will be continued with a boat cruise on the river Nile for game viewing at close quarters. The Boat cruise takes you till the bottom of the falls, which is a nice view and also to see are lots of Nile Crocodiles, water birds and Hippos. Return to dinner and overnight at your hotel for dinner and overnight (Budget or luxury).

Day 3: Transfer To Kibale Forest

We depart Murchison Falls and head towards Fort Portal which is about 8 hours, less or more. This long journey will be rewarded with stunning views as you pass small villages and local markets with an en route stop for lunch. Arriving at Kibale National Park early evening, check in and relax in your preferred accommodation (Budget or luxury) for dinner and overnight at. 

Day 4: Primates Experience

This day is full of exciting walks! In the morning we go in the forest to search for the wild but habituated chimpanzees, also to see are the red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys and many other primates in Kibale Forest. The walk in the forest may last for the whole morning, returning only for lunch and then later we can take you for another local but interesting walk in Bigodi Village, we will visit the swamp, known for its rich diversity of birds, butterflies and rare plant species. Dinner and overnight at your hotel (Budget or luxury).

Day 5: Transfer To Queen Elizabeth National Park

Early in the morning you can enjoy the majestic Rwenzori Mountains in its full glory, where you will have a guided nature walk at the foothills and have a glimpse of the village life. Then get a relaxed breakfast before transfering to Queen Elizabeth National Park. On the drive to our accommodation in the middle of the park you will spot some game. Check in for dinner and overnight at your preferred hotel (Budget or luxury).

Day 6: Game drives & Birding in QENP

Early coffee then begin your day by heading for the mating ground of the Uganda kobs where we may be lucky to spot some lions and leopards hunting. We will also look out for elephants and other wild animals in their natural habitat. Return for lunch and in the afternoon we take on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, which gives you the opportunity to enjoy some more of the African wildlife. The Kazinga Channel is the place where we find the highest concentration of Hippos in East Africa. It’s a highlight of the safari and a must do activity as well. Return for overnight at your hotel (Budget or luxury). 

Day 7: Transfer To Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

The morning options are either a forest walk in Maramagambo or a chimp trek in Kyambura Gorge before we head to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – the home of Mountain Gorillas. Maramagambo Forest is famous for the Blue Lake, Unique trees and Bat Caves while the Kyambura Gorge is famous for its picturesque view and wild Chimpanzees. One can choose to go in and search for the chimpanzees in Kyambura Wildlife Reserve which is a beautiful gorge completely covered with tropical rainforest (this option comes at extra fee). After this thrilling activities we shall return to the hotel late morning, checkout and depart for Bwindi with packed lunch; arriving at the home of the endangered mountain gorillas early evening then check in for overnight at your hotel (Budget or luxury).

Day 8: Gorilla Expeditions

Early breakfast, then with packed lunch head for briefing about your gorilla trekking. This is the highlight of your safari indeed. Today you will meet with the gentle giants of Bwindi Impenetrable National park! Expect to walk a long distance in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead, before you encounter any gorillas and so you must be physically fit. It’s definitely worthwhile observing the gorillas closely while they feed, play and relax. After this awesome experience you will return to your hotel for dinner and overnight. (Budget or luxury).

Day 9: Transfer To Lake Bunyonyi

Having got a long day with gorilla trekking and busy days before, we take you to a place for total relaxation yet discovering Africa and culture. We will drive to Lake Bunyonyi which is the deepest lake in Africa. The place is so beautifully created and also referred to as “the Switzerland of Uganda” and a birders’ paradise. Arrive in time for lunch and take a relaxation at the islands resort. In the late afternoon you can opt to take a swim or go for a canoe trip while you watch the beautiful sunset. Dinner and overnight at your hotel (Budget or luxury).

Day 10: Lake Bunyonyi Islands Excursions

The day is dedicated to village walks, birding and visiting several islands and we shall crown it with a hike up to the Pygmies (very short people) and enjoy their entertainment. Back at your hotel (Budget or luxury) you will take the rest of the evening at leisure, and later overnight.

Day 11: Transfer To Lake Mburu

Start off a little early after breakfast and head to Lake Mburo National Park arriving in time for lunch at your lodge. Afternoon we go for a boat ride on the lake, this is very interesting with chances of spotting many water birds and wildlife cooling off. As option (not included in price) clients can go horse riding, quad biking and much more. Overnight at your hotel (Budget or luxury).

Day 12: Transfer To Lake Mburu National Park

Early breakfast then we take you for the wild nature walk in the park. The walk boosts a lot of wildlife and birds and plant species. Return to check out and drive to Kampala as you enjoy a game drive on your way out of Lake Mburo National Park with your packed lunch. Stop over at the Ugandan Equator, take the water experiments and also do some souvenir shopping before proceeding. Overnight at your hotel (Budget or luxury).

Day 13: Jinja Excursions

Another option is to drive to Jinja, one of the most interesting destinations with the Source of the Nile. Jinja is situated directly at Lake Victoria, where the Nile finds its origin and en route we will make a stop at Mabira Natural Forest – the largest in Uganda for a nice forest walk with the possibility of seeing different types of primates, birds and colorful butterflies you will visit the Source of the Nile, where the famous rivier starts its journey through Africa, and make a stop at the Bujagali Falls which are spectacular waterfalls offering a great challenge for white water rafters! The adventurous people can decide to go rafting at the Nile or make a quad bike safari through the local villages (upon payment of supplement fees) and late return to Kampala for overnight.(BB). 

Day 14: Ngamba Islands Excursions

After breakfast, you have options of what to do this day being your last day for safari in Uganda; some people may opt to take a day excursion to the chimp island – Ngamba Island for watching the chimpanzees in a closely natural environment but also protected sanctuary. This is one of the biggest and its managed by Jane Goodall Institute; feeding the chimps creates an everlasting moment while the boat cruise on Lake Victoria is also worthwhile.

OR Kampala City Tour

Uganda Museum - a display of Uganda’s cultural heritage where one can see ethnological and natural-historical exhibitions. It is a vivid reminder of the country’s colorful past. Bahai Temple also called ‘MashriquI-Adhkar’, the Persian translation of the drawning place of the praise of God. It is also a mother temple of Africa. Namugongo Shrines, which is also a very important site in Africa and worldwide known by the Christian Faith as the place where the King burnt his 22 subjects live due to joining Christianity, and much more.

Day 15: Departure

This marks the end of the Highlights Uganda Safari and the airport transfer of today will be given to you by our friendly drivers at the time of your flight. If the airport transfer is late, then we shall also offer a city tour around Kampala’s famous and historical sites then drop you off to Entebbe International airport in time for your flight and see you off very well.
