When you visit Rwanda you will realize that the physical beauty of the country is unique on the African continent and it’s no wonder that Rwanda is popularly known as ‘the land of a thousand hills’.
Safari Highlights
This safari takes you to the genocide memorial sites, you will also get to mingle with the Rwandese people and learn about their culture. Not to be missed on this safari is the canopy walk in Nyungwe Forest protecting over 13 confirm species of primates and amazing birdlife. The Virunga Volcanoes with Tropical rainforests protecting over 350 of the remaining Mountain Gorillas is another thrill. We will conclude our safari at the Akagera National Park with game viewing spotting abundant wildlife and some of the rarest birds (papyrus gonolek, the bizarre shoebill stork) in Africa. Camping at the picturesque Akagera river banks are some of the unique memories you will take from Rwanda.
On arrival in Kigali, our representative will meet and greet and we shall proceed to check in the accommodation facility of your choice: Luxury /midrange or Budget.
During the city tour, you will also get to mingle with the Rwandese people and learn about their culture at leisure before returning to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

On this day you will visit the historical sites and the palace of the ancient Rwanda kings in Nyanza and then proceed to Butare, Rwanda’s Cultural centre and visit the National Museum
Apart from cultural and heritage tours, the safari takes you to trek the chimpanzees and exciting primates experience in Nyungwe Forest National Park, this park boasts of at least 13 species of primates. Check in, dinner and overnight will be at the accommodation facility of your choice: Luxury/Mid-range/Budget

After breakfast you will be transferred to the park for briefing followed by chimpanzee trekking and experience in the natural forest. Nyungwe Forest boasts of having at least 13 species of primates. You will spend one hour in the presence of the Chimpanzees upon finding the them.
After doing the chimpanzee trek, you will return to the lodge for lunch then relax. In the afternoon you will enjoy the canopy walk on a 90 meter suspended bridge viewing the forest from top of trees, this is an awesome experience. There after you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast you will depart for Lake Kivu. This is the largest lake in Rwanda and is beautifully located amid numerous mountains and steep, green terraced hills. Lake Kivu with its beaches is ideal for swimming, boat rides and sun bathing. Check-in, lunch and overnight will be at Emeraude Kivu Resort or similar.
In the afternoon, you will enjoy a boat ride on the lake and bird lovers can expect to see birds such as pelicans, majestic crowned cranes, malachite kingfishers’ hawk and many more. You will also have a chance to see a variety of water animals such as Hippos. Thereafter you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight

Lake Kivu is surrounded by three resort towns namely, Gisenyi, Kibuye and Cyangugu. After breakfast you will tour and discover these three colorful lakeside resort towns, pursuing the various activities they have to offer, including speedboats, canoe sailing, and mountain walks. There after you will return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Breakfast followed by checkout and a drive to Akagera National Park. You will arrive in time for lunch. Check-in and have lunch at Akagera Game Lodge or the facility of your choice: luxury/midrange/budget. After lunch, you will relax and enjoy the lodge facilities till dinner and overnight.

Have a cup of tea/coffee then set off for a Sunrise game drive in the Akagera game trails. Animals to be seen here include, herds of elephant, buffalos, leopards, hyenas, lions, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, chest-nut coated impalas, diminutive oribis, secretive bush bucks and cape elands.
After the game drive you return to the lodge, relax and enjoy the lodge’s facilities until the late afternoon when you go on a canoe ride on Lake Ihema where you will see a large number of hippos, Nile crocodiles and birds such as fish eagles. You will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Continue our drive through breath taking landscapes to Kinigi at the base of the volcanoes – Ruhengeri (the Gorilla sanctuary) in the North. Check-in will be at Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel or similar. Volcanoes National Park (Parc National des Volcans) is heaven for the mountain gorillas and is home to five of the eight volcanoes of the Virunga Mountains (Karisimbi, Bisoke, Muhabura, Gahinga and Sabyinyo), which are covered in rainforest and bamboo
You will relax at the lodge and in the late afternoon you will visit the grave of Dr. Dian Fossey. One of the world’s leading female scientists who devoted her life to protecting and studying the mountain gorillas in Africa. Thereafter you will return to the hotel for Dinner and overnight.

After an early breakfast, you will report to the briefing point and thereafter led through the forest by experienced trackers on Gorilla trekking expedition. During your trek you will spot other primates such as golden monkeys and a variety of animals including the buffalo, bush duiker and a wide variety of bird life. Gorilla trekking is a strenuous activity and can take anywhere from one to eight hours, depending on Gorilla movements. Hence, a reasonable degree of fitness is required.
On locating the gorillas you will spend maximum one hour, watching them feed, play, rest, and raise their young and you will also be allowed to photograph them. After this awesome experience, you will return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
